Caterpillar Athens is located 60 miles northeast of Atlanta, GA. The 250-acre campus consists of three main building, totaling 850,000 square feet. These three buildings are where the employees are producing the world-class machines for our customers. Several sizes of the Mini Hydraulic Excavators and the Small Track-Type Tractors are in production at Athens. The MHE machines include 303.5E2, 304E2, 304.5E2, 305E2, 305.5E2 and the 308E2. The D3K2, D4K2 and the D5K2 are the STTTs produced here. Almost 1500 people are now employed at the facility.
